I am planning on going on a group holiday(with about 4 other families) to Bali, Indonesia in July 2008. The problem is, we all have children and partners and cannot find hotels to stay at that cater for 2-3 children as well as 2 adults. We also want a central living area for some of the familes.Does anyone know of hotels in the Kuta/South Kuta/Legian/Seminyak area that are resonably priced that can cater for this?

Bali Accomodation Recomendation? I am traveling to Bali for 1 week early...
I recommend three hotels: Hyatt, Conrad and Intercontinental.
All have excellent facilities and are child friendly. Hyatt, has a water slide which the others don’t. All have children activity centers. Conrad also has a rainy-room indoor game center. All offer babysitters if you require them, at very reasonable rates. We have hired sitters who spoke great English and by the day’s end our children did not want to leave their arms.
The said hotels are also great for both adult, infant and child food. If you want to boil bottles and want a boiler in the room, you’ll get one.
Location wise, they are very close. Interncon is on Jimbaran Beach, and is walking distance to the outdoor, on the beach local dinner scene. Hyatt is the largest of the three properties. Conrad is the newest and has a minimalist look (though still very family friendly) and an artificial beach connected to the pool (if you have little ones who cannot be in the real beach). Intercon has many pools and beautiful, mature gardens with local sculptures. Rates are US $150-250. If you want suites for the family, Intercon has two level suites at very good rates.
If you want to splurge, book at the Matahari Beach Resort, along with a helicopter pickup at the airport. It’ll cut the 4+ hour journey to 30 minutes. They have 26 bungalows and a staff of 125. Anything you or your kids would want, they will arrange.
Enjoy!
The Legian Beach Hotel has rooms that are one room that is divided.Parents in Queen size beds in the half and kids stay in the other half on 2 single beds but you would get another bed in room at a squeeze.Good hotel, good pool for kids was about $160 australian per room per night including good breakfast but if you ring hotel for group booking you may get better
