Take a cab from CKG, it will be cheaper.
But make sure (for safety) it’s BLUEBIRD. There are some urban horror stories about Jakarta’s cabbies. They’re not entirely without some foundation.
There are cab booths immediately in front of you as you exit baggage claim/customs.
The journey at that time of night should take 30-45 minutes.

Better take a Blue Bird taxi from the airport. It won’t cost you more than Rp 100,000 I think.
The quotation from the hotel is way overpriced.
Make sure you take a Blue Bird, they have their own taxi stand. It will only take you about 30 minutes to go to that hotel.
Anyway, Jl Gunung Sahari is not in Central Jakarta. You might want to change your hotel and choose one along Jl. Jenderal Sudirman as that is the most strategic place. There are many great hotels there.

    Welcome, and enjoy Jakarta.

At the night the Taxi from airport to Gn. Sahari only around 30 – 45 minutes , take Blue bird Taxi – fee around IDR 100,000 or IDR 150,000 (the maximum)

So many TAxi waiting at the airport , so you will easy to find the taxi all the time – 24 hours at Airport.

    Hi there,
it is quite overpriced … the fees that hotel charged you. however, considering your arriving time, i suggest you to take the hotel offer.
jakarta’ airport is quite hectic sometimes…with all the potter etc.
sure you can find a taxi yourself and (ONLY) get a BLUE BIRD/SILVER BIRD taxi but its since his is your first time…lets choose the safe way.
The ride to hotel will be around 30-40 minutes

hey, as the guys aldy said, its the best choice u take BLUE BIRD cab. its easy to get. when u aldy out from the airport door, tried to find a blue bird counter close to the street.
dont worry, when u aldy come to the bluebird counter, they will assist u very well.
The Cost to get to ur hotel will be around Rp 70.000 plus Rp 8.000 for the airport parking tax plus Rp 10.000 for the highway/ toll fee.
ask the driver to get out from the ‘ANCOL’ toll gate. it will be a little bit jam over there. But its ok, it only will hold about 10 minutes from ur trip.
Anyway, its a best choice for u to stay in that hotel. its only 5 minutes drive to MANGGA DUA, the heaven for the shopaholic. and 15 minutes to go to the ANCOL ( theme park ). Alsoo.. if u want to find restaurant, at night time, u can easily find them
    Cheers then

I’m Indonesian and I suggest you to take BLUE BIRD only (but becarefull to other cabs that have similar blue colour). It will cost you much less than hotel’s cab, maybe around IDR 100,000 or less. Believe me…

From the airport, you may be asked for IDR 10,000 for airport’s fee. When you’re in the cab, make sure you notice the Blue Bird’s service phone number, the driver’s ID which is located on top-left of the dashboard and taxi’s number. Just in case you have some complaints.

FYI, in Jakarta, you can contact this information number if you want to know more details: +62 021 108.

Yes, the price the hotel quoted you is overpriced. However, there is no guarantee that even Blue Bird taxi drivers will even know where your hotel is, believe me. Even if they do know where it is, they frequently drive around in circles to jack up the rate. Then you’ve got the airport surcharge and on top of that the toll road charges if you don’t know the regular roads yourself. Not a pleasant experience when you’re coming in that late at night. Blue Bird used to be good. They seriously suck now.

If anything, take a Silver Bird taxi. Same company as Blue Bird but much more comfortable cabs and the drivers are much more professional. Or save yourself the headache and simply take the hotel’s offer. Some things are just not worth squabbling over the price of in this country. Jakarta airport taxi drivers are nothing but con artists.
