I’m traveling to Jakarta, Indonesia for a few days during summer, end of July to be exact. I’m a student, so obviously I don’t have a lot of money to splurge, so I’m gonna have to look for an affordable hotel that’s decent and situated in the city (not suburbs). Well, I think the price should be around 300 000 IDR and below per room per night.
I also would like to try some of the best Nase Padang in Jakarta. Where can I get it?
Thanks for helping, especially with the hotel (since all the hotels I see on the net cost quite a fortune.. and they said South East Asia is cheap..)

hmm…I think there’s no decent hotel under 1 million IDR in the city…U should go check Ibis Hotel in Slipi…the price is around 400,000 IDR per day(+6221 5331570)…It’s the nearest to the city…(only 15 minutes if there is no traffic jam)…
Mega Anggrek Hotel is also nice (5 minutes away from the biggest mall in Southeast Asia, Taman Anggrek mall)…around 25 minutes away from the city..(the price is 345,000 IDR nett)…+6221 5363044
Ciputra Hotel (+6221 5660640) is more expensive but quite nice…If you want the best, try Hyatt Hotel. It’s located exactly in the middle of the city and attached to the most luxurious mall in Jakarta, Plaza Indonesia…it’s more expensive though…around 980,000 IDR…
U can find many nasi padang restaurants along Juanda street near St.Maria (a catholic school)…but mostly u can find them everywhere in shopping centres…I highly recommend Pisa Cafe, an italian restaurant in Menteng..across Tereshia church..Not too expensive and there are many young hot girls and guys…the restaurant is also very nice…u should thry their gelato ice cream…good luck and have fun!
usually backpackers with limited budget would choose hotels in “jalan jaksa” jaksa street,,
